FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about our testing services, process, and pricing.
Getting Started
What types of products do you test?+
We test tile adhesives (cementitious, dispersion, and reaction resin types), block mortars, plasters, and grouts. We are exclusively focused on this product category — we do not test general civil materials like concrete or steel.
Do you test products from anywhere in India?+
Yes. For laboratory testing, we accept samples shipped from anywhere in India. On-site pull-off testing is currently available in Hyderabad and the surrounding region only.
How do I submit a sample for testing?+
Contact us via the inquiry form or phone to discuss your testing requirement. We will issue a sample submission guideline specifying the quantity, packaging, labelling, and shipping address. Most adhesive tests require 10–15 kg of mixed or unmixed material.
Testing Process
How long does testing take?+
Standard test turnaround is 5–7 business days from receipt of samples. Some tests (particularly heat aging and freeze-thaw) require longer conditioning periods — we will advise you of the timeline in the quotation.
What does the test report include?+
Each report includes the test parameter, the referenced standard and clause, the test result, the pass/fail criterion, and is signed by our technical signatory. Reports are issued digitally in PDF format.
Can you test against both IS 15477 and EN 12004 simultaneously?+
Yes. We can run tests aligned to both standards on the same sample submission, which is particularly useful for manufacturers targeting both Indian and export markets.
On-Site Pull-Off Testing
What is on-site pull-off testing?+
Pull-off testing directly measures the tensile adhesion of tiles already installed on a building surface. A dolly is bonded to the tile, and a calibrated instrument applies an increasing tensile force until failure. The result tells you both the strength and the mode of failure (e.g., adhesive failure, cohesive failure, or substrate failure).
When should I commission a pull-off test?+
Useful scenarios: quality acceptance before project handover, investigating reported tile debonding, verifying adhesive product performance on site, and as part of a contractual quality inspection protocol.
How long does a site visit take?+
A typical site visit covering 5–10 test locations takes 2–3 hours. We provide preliminary results on-site and a full signed report within 2–3 business days.
NABL Accreditation
Is Zybuild NABL accredited?+
We are in the process of pursuing NABL accreditation. Our testing is performed per the relevant IS / EN / ISO standards using calibrated equipment, but our reports are not yet NABL-endorsed. Please contact us for current accreditation status before relying on reports for regulatory submissions.
Will my test reports be accepted by BIS or government bodies?+
For BIS IS mark certification purposes, reports from NABL-accredited labs are required. Our reports can support internal quality documentation, export documentation, and client-facing certification until NABL accreditation is obtained.
Pricing & Terms
How do I get a price for testing?+
Pricing depends on the number of test parameters, the applicable standard, and any special requirements (e.g., expedited turnaround or on-site testing). Submit an inquiry and we will send you a detailed quotation within one business day.
Do you offer package pricing for multiple tests?+
Yes. If you need a full IS 15477 compliance test (all mandatory parameters), we offer bundled pricing that is more economical than individual tests. Ask about our standard testing packages when you request a quotation.
